Our facility was completed in the spring of 2004.  Surprisingly, the planning took much longer than the construction.  After years of wondering why our old office didn't function to its full potential, Dr. Schmanski decided to contact the experts and find out why patient treatment is easier and more efficient in some clinics than others.

Dr. Schmanski researched numerous dental journals as well as attending continuing education seminars and dental trade shows.  During this process he discovered that a childhood friend and colleague had pursued a career in dental office design.  After 20 years of no contact, Dr. Schmanski and Dr. Jeff Carter crossed paths as a result of this facility design research.  The reunion lead to Dr. Schmanski attending a two day seminar on the  concepts of ideal dental office design.  What Dr. Schmanski learned through this entire process is that there are scientific and architectural principles that can make dental offices efficient, safe and enjoyable and that the ideal design of a dental office is a task for design professionals.

Dr. Schmanski and his staff worked closely with Dr. Carter's firm to develop the ideal design for our new facility.  After a lengthy process of research and planning followed by months of construction, the doors of our state of the art facility finally opened.

The facility is uniquely tailored to provide patients a relaxing and positive environment to experience the high quality care provided by Dr. Thomas Schmanski and staff.  Attention to architectural and design details throughout the interior and exterior of the building distinguish Yorkshire Dental from the typical dental office.

The office layout is the culmination of years of research and development resulting in the most optimal methods of delivering patient care while assisting staff and doctor to work as efficiently and ergonomically as possible.  Ergonomic treatment rooms allow Dr. Schmanski and staff to provide the highest quality care in the most efficient time period.

Studies have shown that a major component of dental phobia is the fear of undergoing treatment in dimly-lit claustrophobic-inducing spaces.  Yorkshire Dental patients experience an open, spacious and bright environment as they move throughout the facility.  The thoughtful design also provides multiple HIPAA compliant areas within in the facility fully supporting patients’ rights to private conversations about their care while still maintaining an open feel.  The design also supports the American With Disabilities Act and allows wheel-chair patients access to all spaces within the office interior.

Dr. Carter notes that "many dentists choose not to reinvest practice dollars into their facility.  We acknowledge Dr. Schmanski for making the financial commitment to provide patients and staff a modern environment to experience all that dentistry has to offer."

If you're a dentist and are interested in the the knowledge Dr. Schmanski collected on this journey, please contact our office and he will give you all the details.  If you're an individual looking for a efficient, safe and enjoyable dental experience, stop by our office and we'll be glad to visit with you and show you around.
