Dr. Thomas Schmanski
is a native of Madison, SD. His family moved to Anoka, MN
and then to Ft. Lupton, CO in 1968 where his father and mother owned
and operated a funeral home. He has 6 brothers and sisters. Dr.
Schmanski attended St. John's Prep school in Collegeville, MN
and was a foreign exchange student in Melk, Austria his junior
year. He graduated from St. John's in 1975 and enrolled at
Creighton University, majoring in biology. He graduated in 1982
with a DDS degree and moved to Brookings and began his practice by
"hanging out a shingle". He and Kris were married in 1991 and have
4 children. Dr. Schmanski enjoys staying current in the dental
field by attending numerous continuing education seminars and can
occasionally be found driving his white pickup on ice that is too
thin in an attempt to do some ice fishing. At least we think
that's what Kris means when she says "he's on thin ice!"

Kris provides most
of the constant supervision that Dr. Schmanski requires. She
was raised on a fourth generation ranch outside of Rapid City, SD.
She has one brother. Her earliest memories are of being four years
old and watching debris floating by their home on Rapid Creek during
the flood of '72. She attended Rapid City Central High School,
graduating in 1986. She earned a degree in Mathematics from
South Dakota State University here in Brookings in 1990. Kris
enjoys attending continuing education with Dr. Schmanski, assisting
in operating the dental office and being the mother of four.
She also loves travel and family activities as well as Creighton
basketball. And occasionally she can be found at a classic
rock concert.

Stephanie lives in Volga, SD and has a 3yr old little boy. She has
been in the dental profession for 11 years and has a wealth of
experience in chair side dental assisting in both the surgical and
restorative fields. Stephanie has been part of the Yorkshire
Dental team for 4 years. "We are lucky to have such experience in
our office," said Dr. Schmanski. "She can make treatment a much
easier experience for the patient. She makes hard things look
easy." |

Nancy has been with our office for
almost a year. She is married to Sheldon and lives in
Brookings. Nancy will help you with almost any insurance
questions you may have. She is also the person who calls you
to let you know if it's been a while since your last check-up and
will help you get scheduled for your future appointment. Were
quite sure "Helpful" is Nancy's middle name.

LuAnn is from DeSmet, SD and has been
with Yorkshire Dental for 2 1/2 years. You will not meet anyone
friendlier than Lu! She is a genuine people-person and enjoys
meeting new people every day. She is truly a gem to work with and
everyone enjoys the day when Lu is here!

Heather grew up in Ivanhoe, MN.
She is newly married and is a recent graduate of Argosy University in
Eagan, MN in the field of dental hygiene. Heather and her husband
Adam currently live in Hendricks, MN. Heather will give you a
clean, shiny smile in a minimal amount of time! |
